Time Required: 1 Minute, 5 Minutes, 10 Minutes, 15 Minutes

Notes: (This applies for anything that requires a password.) Having a password that is hard or impossible to crack is essential for anybody with information that must be guarded. Below are some tips for creating a hard-to-crack password.

Warnings: This is dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. I do not take responsibility for anything that you do to your computer that harms it or any files on it in any way.

Tips:

  • Make the password as many characters as possible.
  • NEVER write down a password and keep it near your computer. IE putting the password on a sticky note and keeping it below the mouse-pad.
  • Try to make your password a combination of words and number.
  • Avoid making your password a single word that could be found in a dictionary.
  • Avoid making your password the name of somebody famous.
  • Don't make passwords that you will easily forget.
  • Avoid storing passwords on your computer.
