Add/Remove icons on the Internet Explorer bar

Time Required: 1 Minute, 5 Minutes, 10 Minutes, 15 Minutes

Notes: Internet Explorer can some times seemed bogged down with unnecessary icons at the top. This tweak allows you to decide which icons are there.

Warnings: This is dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. I do not take responsibility for anything that you do to your computer that harms it or any files on it in any way.

How to do it:

  • Open Internet Explorer (I'm assuming that it's already open...)
  • Right-click a button on the menu-bar near the top (such as "Stop" or "Refresh"). See the picture below
  • <IMG alt="" src="http://xpfreedom.com/modules/ContentExpress/img_repository/otherbar.JPG" align=left border=0>

  • Click "Customize..." on the right-click menu.
  • Under the "Current Toolbar Buttons" field, select the ones that you don't want and click "<- Remove".
  • You can also add icons the same way.
