Notes: Increasing the speed at which your hard drive writes files will decrease the amount of RAM dedicated to running programs. You should not notice a difference unless you are running an excessive amount of memory-reducing programs. This is only recommended for computers with at least 256 MB of RAM.

How to do it:
- Navigate to Start > Control Panel (Click on the Control Panel).
- Click "Performance and Maintenance".
- Click the "System" icon.
- Click on the "Advanced" tab.
- Under the "Performance" box, click "Settings".
- Click the "Advanced" tab.
- Under the "Memory Usage" box, click the "System cache" radio button.
- Click OK and reboot your computer.
